International

We are running weekly Spanish lessons after school for all children from Reception upwards.

One of our members of staff went to Cambodia in June and July 2014. She worked in the ‘Hope’ school for two weeks. While she was there several of our children were in contact with her via Skype. Our children also sent pictures to the Cambodian children.

During 2013-14 we were lucky to be part of the Comenius Assistant programme. We were paired with a student from Turkey. He worked across the school teaching about his country’s language and culture, whilst learning about how we teach in England too.

All children learn a foreign language throughout the year (Reception join in after they have settled for the first term).

Our younger pupils can take Wilbur the Withington Bear on holiday with them, returning with pictures of his journey. They can talk about what he saw and display his photos on our World map. If Wilbur Bear gets too busy, he may even need to get a helper!

We enjoy hosting Family Breakfasts From Around The World, when our parents can be invited to join their children before school to enjoy breakfasts from all parts of the globe. Our previous international breakfasts have been from the North Pole, France, Germany, Malaysia, USA and the UK.
